Hunting Season comes to an end...

March 08, 2019

All our young horses have enjoyed a great hunting season. We believe hunting our young horses really introduces them to different terrain and teaches them manners, so try to get them out regularly.  Philippa's 5 year old, Tom's Bruce, joined us in October and has enjoyed some autumn hunting . He's grown so much in confidence with his jumping throughout the season. He's now preparing for his eventing Debut this summer, with regular training sessions.

Pauline Fletcher’s Larkshill Sovereign joined us in the Autumn, and has thoroughly enjoyed his hunting days. It's given them a great opportunity to get to know each other, ready to begin their eventing season in the Novice at Lincoln in March.

All our hunter liveries have finished the season fit and well, with thanks to Nikki and the team for their hard work.

The boys are back in town...

March 01, 2019

Our main boys are back in business!

Snoopy & Amigo, our two handsome greys, are back in work and have begun their jump training. Amigo will be aimed at Lincoln Horse Trials in March, along with stable mate Scooby, owned by Pauline Fletcher.

We're really excited to have Arctic Cruising back this season, he's feeling very well and happy to be back in business.

Our new groom Nikki who has done a fantastic job throughout the hunting season this year, and has the horses looking great for the eventing season ahead.

Amigo ends the season on a high!

September 21, 2018

Amigo finishing the season on a high jumping double clear to come 7th in the CIC 1* at Alnwick ford.

Bruno & Julie complete their wobbleberry challenge!!

October 23, 2017

My eventing career started and probably finished in one very long day at Askham Bryan . A huge thank you to Charlotte Ridley especially on the day, helping me to achieve 34.8 dressage.

A double clear inside the time meant a very exciting 5th place rosette.

Also John hill and Jade for kick starting the gang of Debbie and Mary Ann, my fellow wobblers. Thanks to all the support team including Gayle, Jean, Barbara and Philippa for grooming, which makes a refreshing change. And thanks most of all to Bruno, my reliable stead, and Camilla Shirley Bevan for trusting me with her superb horse for the challenge.

Thank you all that have sponsored me through just giving for the Willberry charity. So far we have raised over £400

End of a great season

October 23, 2017

Last few events-

Allerton was a quiet event for us, with our own Hallo quality penny running well in the BE100 for 5th place, finishing on her dressage score of 28.5. She then went one better at Alnwick ford in September for 4th place on 29.5 dressage and one down show jumping.

Diana Beaumont’s Belle also ran well at Alnwick ford, coming a close 2nd. She tried really hard in the dressage for a great score of 23.5, 1 down show jumping and a confident clear x-country. I'm so pleased with how well she's improved throughout the season.

The eventers are all looking forward to a well deserved holiday, and the hunters are in ready to roll. We also have our two homebreds in at the moment for breaking which is an exciting task for the winter, and our little foal Hendrick is getting bigger every day.

Our last event of the season was a CCI 2* run at Osberton international. Snoopy did a smart test, lying fairly high on the leader board before x country day. After a great start round the x country track we sadly had a run out at a very narrow skinny leaving the water half way round the course. I got my line slightly wrong coming out of the water and snoops couldn’t quite make it to jump the right side of the flags.  He felt great the whole way round, and it was unfortunately totally down to rider error, very frustrating. However he finished the weekend feeling fabulous, jumping a lovely show jumping round and sailing through the trot up so I was happy to finish with a very happy horse.

A special thank you to all of my owners and sponsors who have supported me and my great team of horses throughout the year. Without them, this wouldn’t be possible. We have had a really successful season, with current horses and exciting new rides, and we’ve had so much fun campaigning Snoopy for the U21 British team.

Thank you again to my hard working trainers Charlotte Ridley, John Hill, Melissa Chapman and Will Murray, who have massively improved our dressage scores and show jumping technique throughout the season.

And of course a big thank you to my home team of Lucy, Jade, Kate, mum and dad for their entire hard work keeping horses fit, happy, sound and looking fabulous.

August Update

August 30, 2017

August has been fairly quiet for us in terms of competitions, giving us a chance to really get our young horses going at home, and bring our chubby hunters in from their holiday field.

Amigo ran well at Dalkeith early august, for 8th place in the novice with a double clear for owners Pauline and Raymond. Fred did a great dressage for 27.8, finishing 6th after a great xcountry round. It was lovely to have my parents Hallo Quality Penny back out eventing, she did a super test for 28.5. 1 down sj and clear xcountry to finish 6th which I was really pleased with.

Snoopy and Amigo had a sleepover at somerford for an OI and novice run. Snoop finished 10th and Amigo 8th after great xcountry rounds.

Hendrick is growing fast and seems happy and healthy running beside his mum, Maggie.

Mum is currently in training on Camilla Shirley-Bevan's Bruno for her wobbleberry challenge. If you would like to sponsor her for the fantastic charity, hannahs wilberry wonder pony supporting bone cancer research please visit her just giving page at

Thankyou to all those that attended our schooling day and showjumping competition. It was lovely weather and a great turnout, with all funds raised from the showjumping donated to the Tynedale Hunt. Thankyou to those who helped us throughout the day, both in the portakabin and on the showjumping.

July Update- My first advanced and welcome Hendrick

July 30, 2017

Arctic cruising and I had an amazing weekend down at Aston le Walls, completing our first Advanced coming a very close 2nd. He performed great in his dressage for a 33.4, jumping a super double clear. I was thrilled with his performance all weekend.

Hendrick, our new foal was born on 27th July. Mum Maggie did a great job and we have a very lively, long legged boy to add to our Take it to the Limit string.

We took 3 horses to our local arena eventing series at Belsay HT for a great evening of competition.  Fred scooped up 2 wins in the 100 and 1m10 with great rounds, Penny jumped like a pro for 3rd in the 1m, and Belle was a star for 4th place in the 1m. Thankyou to Laura DeWesselow and her team for a really fun evening and fabulous course.

Aske HT: PRF Divo Mail, Amigo, was super in his first novice staying on his dressage score of 40 for 6th place. Not wanting to be outdone, Fred, Game of Luck was 5th in a strong ON section. 1 down SJ and clear XC left him with a finishing score of 33.9.

Burgham HT: Game of Luck, Fred completed the CIC 1* at our local international event Burgham horse trials. Sadly sj faults dragged us down the placings but he jumped fabulous round the xcountry track for a clear inside the time. PRF divo mail, Amigo was fabulous jumping double clear round his novice track for 4th place. A huge thankyou to the team at Burgham for their efforts in the wet weather. We all had a great day.

August 12, 2017

We had a great day at Dalkeith with 3 very clever ponies.

Fred, Game of Luck,  was 6th in the Open Novice after a 27.8 dressage and awesome clear xcountry for Miss Lauren Chaffey.

Our own Hallo quality Penny was also 6th, in her BE100, with a relaxed 28.5 dressage and storming clear xcountry.

PRF Divo Mail was just awesome jumping double clear for 8th in the Novice for owners Pauline and Raymond Fletcher.

Thankyou so much to my super grooms Jean Cheesebrough and Tory Dodd, Lucy for running the yard at home and to my fabulous sponsors Fastract, Peter Smyth sports horses, Finest Equestrian, Shaw & Co and Graham Reader.

May Update

June 02, 2017

Our horses are all well, and enjoying some fresh new grass.

Our very generous sponsors, Finest Equestrian, have supplied us with some lovely embroided

numnahs and thermatex rugs which look great on the horses at competitions.

We’ve had a great month of competitions, starting with Richmond, North Yorkshire.

Lauren Chaffey’s Fred (Game of luck) was happy to be out competing again, running HC in the Novice with a clear inside the time and 1 down show jumping. He then went onto Floors castle in Scotland for the CIC 1*, behaving beautifully in the dressage for a 50.1, jumping a double clear for 11th place. He was then placed 8th in the Novice regional final at Belsay last weekend, with another great clear x-country.

PRF Divo Mail, Amigo, owned by Pauline and Raymond Fletcher, has had succesful runs at BE100 this season, jumping 3/3 xcountry clears. We hope to move him up to Novice in July.

Lovely mare Belle XII recently joined us, owned by Hon. Mrs M H Beaumont, jumping clear round both her BE90’s at Warwick Hall and Belsay, finishing just out of the top 10.

Young rider championships, Houghton Hall 2* CCI

June 02, 2017

Snoopy (Arctic Cruising) was a total star at Houghton CCI 2* Young riders Championships, campaigning for the young riders team. He performed a lovely dressage test, but his mark was a little disappointing, for a 53.7. He flew round the tough x-country track and felt fabulous, picking up just 0.4 time penalties. He looked amazing in his trot up on Sunday before jumping a great round, just tapping the first fence. A big Thankyou to Jade for coming with us, turning snoop out immaculately, and to Micheala and Lucy for keeping the yard at home running perfectly.
