Whittington Warm Up

NEW FOR 2023 Whittington Warm Up on Saturday 22nd April 2023!

 A great opportunity to get going for the coming season! Whether you are preparing for the eventing season, want to practice show jumping and cross country, or simply want a fun day out, this training day offers you the chance to ride a flagged course in a relaxed atmosphere. We invite riders to come and jump a course of show jumps, then head straight on to the XC phase to jump a flagged course. 

Each horse and rider combination will be given an allocated start time for jumping. This is a training day and will not be scored. There will also be two grass dressage arenas set up to give riders the option of practicing this phase before jumping. 

For the show jumping, riders will choose whether they want to jump a course of 70cm, 80cm or 90cm when booking. Each rider can jump two rounds of show jumping if required. For the XC, each fence will have height options of up to 70cm, up to 80cm and up to 90cm so that riders can pick and choose what height they want to jump at each fence. 

Whilst this is schooling event, riders must jump the course in order as if it were a competition. Riders can choose to miss out or move on from a fence. Young or nervous riders can be assisted by those on the ground. 

Event Rider Pip Nixon will be conducting a course walk at 4pm on Friday 21st April 2023. 

This is a great chance to get some top tips on XC technique and the best lines for tackling our fences.Entries will open in the week commencing 27th March.

The cost is £32 per horse and rider combination including the optional Friday afternoon course walk with Pip Nixon.

How to enter: We are using a new booking system for events - Head to our events page, select the number or entries you want to make in the drop down menu and click enter now. You will be taken to a registration page which asks for your name, horses name and infromation regarding your entry. You will then be given the choice of 70cm, 80cm or 90cm showjumping in a drop down box before being taken to the payment page. If you wish to make more than one entry at the same time, use the drop down arrow to change the number on the first booking page to the number of entries you wish to make. On the next page, you will be able to enter the name/details of each horse/rider combination  individually and select the showjumping height according to each horse, before processing one payment for your entry. 

Both the show jumping and XC courses will be available to walk from 2pm on Friday 21st April. 

Times will be available on the website before 6pm on Thursday 20th April.
